VFO gear train and locations

Note the stop and spring load screws.  The floating plate with gears in wedged into the main and dial gear.
Anti backlash gear loaded and held with forcips

Note the two adjusting screws.The top one is a stop and the bottom the tension adjustment.  The plate that they are moving is a floating -- all directions idler gear that is thrust into the main gear and dial shaft quenching backlash.  The top gear in the photo below is attached to the tuning capacitor and is composed of two gears that are spring loaded to prevent back lash.

Finger activates the mechanical stop.  All bearings and gears should be lubricated with CLOCK oil not grease
